I AM THE COLOUR – Ralf Schmerberg

A collaboration between performance artist Mang (Zhao Bing Bin) and Ralf Schmerberg.

The short film I AM THE COLOUR is the latest of Schmerberg’s unclassifiable “films that no-one needs”: a clash between performer, set and camera. Canvas, body, colour, paintbrush and camera merge into a mesmerising palette. Unpredictable at the outset, its result holds all the more power: an expressionist trance that materialises the flirtatious interplay of time and colour in painting and the moving image.
