MERET – SEVEN DEATHS OF A BIRD

The traumatic ending of her true love throws her into a dark void and a deep numbness. To heal, her pain had to be transformed into music. In the dark recesses of her withdrawn soul, music come to her in her phantasmagorical psychosis, she hears these songs and sings them.

Her psychotic visions summon an uncanny landscape of random fragments of the Wild West, exploding in her head – she loses herself in it, in order to find herself again. In this lawless and chaotic second world, everything masculine, by proxy, is a painful reminder, a trigger of her unfair suffering and is thus considered hostile. Meret heals her soul by roaming through several deaths – every line of song is a duel fought with blood and flowers.
