For their “Apathy is Lethal” campaign, the United Nations Foundation asked Ralf Schmerberg to create a commercial drawing attention to the millions of children that are orphaned by the AIDS crisis.

In a post-apocalyptic world without adults, the children are left to themselves – sleeping in makeshift shelters and rummaging the deserted streets of the big cities. With powerful and poignant imagery, UNDER FIVE visualizes the scope of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and its devastating effects on the youngest generation.
