Exploring the iconic force and generative possibilities of the notions of fracture and disruption.

Gabriel Rolt and Paradise Row presented Fracture, a pop-up exhibition at Mindpirates Projektraum, coinciding with the gallery weekend in Berlin.

The exhibition revealed the iconic force and generative possibilities of the notions of fracture and disruption through works that explore the ideas and motifs that circulate around these themes. In examining ideas linked to fracture and disruption, the artists seek to visualise and articulate the transient and paradoxical nature of the human condition. Fracture thus entails transformation, as seen in Dawn Mellor’s critical work that disrupts of the stereotypes circulated by global media, Davina Semo’s contested surfaces that reify the contemporary urban aesthetic, or Jake and Dinos Chapman’s work as they reinvent and combine traditional artistic media to undercut naïve, received ideas about the hermetic character of human agency.
